Initial Impressions Of The All-New Galaxy S23 Series After The Experiment!
The Mobizel team received an invitation from Samsung International, to test the all-new Samsung Galaxy S23 series phones , before its official launch, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Indeed, we tried the new phones, and with its official presentation today, Wednesday, February 1, 2023, we present to you the impressions after the initial experience.
The Design
Speaking of the design of the Galaxy S23 Ultra , at first glance, you will find that the position of the phone in the hand is better than the previous generation S22 Ultra with a noticeable difference, as a result of reducing the curves in the sides and frame of the phone. Also, the curves in the screen have become significantly less. As for the shape of the design, there is no obvious difference.
Looking at the dimensions and weight, we find that the phone is identical to the previous generation S22 Ultra , as the weight is considered heavier by a very small difference, and the thickness of the phone is identical to the previous generation, which is 8.9 mm. The sPen is inside the phone.
Speaking of the Galaxy S23 Plus and the regular S23 version, there is a difference in design compared to previous generations, as the cameras are located in the back without a frame, to be similar to the design of the Ultra version.
All series phones are protected by the new Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection layer on the back and screen, and it is water and dust resistant with IP68 certification, and the phones come in four colors, black, green, cream and purple.
The Screen
By updating the series screens, the screens are Dynamic AMOLED 2X with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of 1750 lumens, and the S23 Ultra comes with a 6.8-inch screen with QHD + resolution, while the Galaxy S23 Plus has a 6.6-inch screen with FHD + resolution, and the regular S23 has a 6.1-inch screen with FHD + resolution as well.
Looking at the screen specifications, there are no upgrades or improvements from previous generations, and the brightness of 1750 lumens is weak compared to the iPhone 14 Pro , which reaches 2000 lumens.
The Performance
The series phones come with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with 4 nanometer technology, which is considered one of the most powerful processors currently available in the global market. With UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5x RAM. With the exception of the 128 GB version of the regular Galaxy S23, which comes with UFS 3.1 memory.
We expect the new phones to perform better than the previous generation phones, with a noticeable difference.
The Battery
The S23 Ultra version comes with a 5000 mAh battery, the S23 Plus version comes with a 4700 mAh battery, and the regular S23 version comes with a 3900 mAh battery, with an improvement in the Plus version and the regular version over previous generations, with an increase of 200 mAh in the capacity of each battery, and the stability of the S23 Ultra with the same battery and the same capacity No difference.
As for charging, the S23 Ultra and S23 Plus phones support 45-watt charging, the regular S23 version supports 25-watt charging, and phones support wireless charging. No difference from previous generations.
Cameras:
As for the S23 Ultra, the company replaced the 108-megapixel main lens with a 200-megapixel lens with an F/1.7 lens slot with an optical stabilizer, and as for the other lenses, there are no developments or updates.
And with a quick experience with the camera, the image processing when shooting at night has become better, and the 200-megapixel lens provides a very excellent level of detail, and the HDR has become better with a noticeable difference, and the image processing after capturing has become faster, but not as fast as the competitors. And the camera supports shooting 8K videos with 30 frames instead of only 24 frames in the previous generation.
With regard to the selfie camera, it has become a 12-megapixel camera with an F / 2.2 lens slot, and after its experience, it has become stronger with a noticeable difference from the previous generation, which was excellent, which puts it in a strong position among the competitors.
As for the S23 Plus and S23 cameras, there are no changes in the rear cameras, a 50-megapixel main camera, a 10-megapixel lens for zoom up to 30X, and a 12-megapixel lens for Ultra Wide. And actual advancements in artificial intelligence that improved Night Mode and improved image processing.
The front camera also in the S23 and S23 Plus phones comes with a 12-megapixel resolution with an F / 2.2 lens slot, which is a better lens than the one in the previous generation, with a clear and noticeable difference.
